“Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did (IN FAITH),
God removes the veil and there they are–face to face!
They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence,
…when God is personally present, a living Spirit,
that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete.
We’re free of it!
All of us!
Nothing between us and God,
our faces shining with the brightness of his face.
And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah,
our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful
as God enters our lives and we become like him.”
~2COR. 3:16-18, MSG
I was feeling a lil’ “weary in well doing” one morning. Although nobody else was even up yet, I was sure I would be able to keep a smile on my face when they arose. However, to be ‘more sure’ I called for reinforcements. An increasing uneasiness caused me to shout out to my ‘girlfriends’; I needed help with lifting up my hands that seemed to hang down. I needed my JOY level upped so I could keep my focus on my Jesus and on my “so great a salvation” as I endeavored to take on the tasks at hand that day.
One friend, whom I refer to as MBFL*, prayed this way:
“Father, I ask you right now to saturate Anita, with your presence upon her and fill her with that inward knowing that you are right there, that you care, and that you are working on every part of her life right now and for the day ahead. Cause her to come to the quiet resting place and by the still waters, calm her soul Lord and help her to know in a BIG WAY that you are right there. I guess I am asking you to reveal your love, your manifest presence, your peace and your joy to her right now Father, and I thank you for it, I believe it is done even NOW AND I BELIEVE that she receives it. IN JESUS NAME AMEN”
They prayed. I prayed. I read The Word. I tuned my ears to hear. Still searching for emotional relief and spiritual focus, I found a WOE in Frances J. Roberts’ book, On the Highroad of Surrender, entitled “Recognition and Focus“:
Recognition, My child, brings Me into focus. It is not so much your actions as your motives which concern Me; for I know that from pure motives spring good works, just as a loving heart spontaneously prompts gentle manners. Recognition is the sight I give your inner eye to discern distortion of My image in your own character. I do not say in your brother’s, but in your own! I would have your personality patterns display My character, and wherever this fails to be so, there is distortion of the image, and in such state, as others look to you for guidance and inspiration, they do not see a clear image of Me.
My conclusion? Recognizing God’s PERSONAL PRESENCE is the key for ‘daze’ like this, in fact for ALL days! Sometimes, we (I) allow daily activity/plans, necessary as they are, to clutter our thinking and we temporarily forget about His goodness. Our joy comes from knowing HIM and WHO He is IN US! Knowing Him to the point that we can consciously discern when our personality is not reflecting/displaying His character. When we fail to remember who we are and to Whom we belong, others will fail to see His character clearly; we give a distorted view of our God!!!
My God answered our prayers, but not in the way I expected this day. He is not harsh, but He is stern when He corrects us. The following is what He said.
WOE: From where does your joy come? Does it not come from Me? You prayed for one of my other children just this morning to remember My ‘so great a salvation’; have you forgotten so quickly? Have you forgotten all you have been taught of faith and how it works? Faith comes by hearing, but it works by love~ MY LOVE! Trust in Me; My so great a salvation is saving you. You are My beloved; I want to pour Myself out on you. So, just believe and receive. Then, you will win against anything that the enemy sends your way. He is seeking to tear you down. I am building you up so that all his tactics bounce off your shield of faith and knock him to the ground. Keep your shield; keep it lifted; keep it in place. There is your victory, and there you are safe! (14-0604)
