Financial Glory

Not long ago, one of my grands informed me that meekness means “you can’t brag about stuff!”  However, her older sister quickly pointed out it also means “to think about others instead of yourself”.  With that said, I want to point out Paul once wrote about bragging. He states in 2 Corinthians, “If I have to ‘brag’ about myself, I’ll brag about the humiliations that make me like Jesus.”  My motive in telling my story/testimony is NOT bragging on anything I have done.  As Paul, I, too, ‘brag’ on what the Lord has done IN and FOR me, not on ‘self’. It is my hope that it brings glory to the work of Jesus by bringing attention to the benefits of our salvation!  And, lastly, but certainly not in the least, I hope my story encourages you in handling your financial matters at hand, whatever your financial circumstances may be.  I give The LORD and Holy Spirit the honor due them; without them, there would not be a story to tell!

Earlier this year, we decided that it was time to upgrade my vehicle which meant (I’m sorry to say) we were going back into debt. This decision made us wonder about our credit ratings because we had been out of debt for 7+yrs~ a Spirit-led occurrence, but THAT is another story so I won’t digress here…  Needless to say, we are not ‘money-savvy people’, and I never wanted to pay the fee so we have never known our credit ‘score’ before. However, we decided it was time. Believing that no “bad things” should have been reported, I checked our credit report.  After all, we were debt-free, right? However, there was, in fact, two “potentially bad” (FALSE) items on the report. I followed the suggestions to dispute the items. A week later we received a letter informing us the items had been removed. Sonata

When we went to finalize the purchase of my ‘new’ vehicle, I explained to the salesman about the “potentially bad” items and they were supposed to be removed. MUCH to our BIG SURPRISE… including the salsman’s by the look on his face… the credit score was HIGHER and “above–beyond” our greatest expectations! The salesman explained that he rarely sees a credit score that high and had only seen one higher in his career helping people get cars. Want me to make this longer story shorter?  Get to the point? Alright, will do…  We qualified for the LOWEST loan percentage rate available!

Trust me when I say it is only by the grace of God!  God’s grace brought us to this place… to here from being homeless 28 years ago… to here from filing bankruptcy 14 years ago… TO GOD BE THE GLORY!  MY best advice on how to get here? Learn to HEAR when Holy Spirit speaks…. follow where He leads… He really is your BEST bestfriend~ allow him to do His job! He is good at it!

I AM not harsh, but I AM stern.
This Word is not harsh; this Word is stern!
I have warned you– It is written to
allow My Spirit to lead you and guide you
down the path I have for you, a certain path!
You have chosen a different path.
There is no safety there.
It is the path that leads to destruction.
Your eyes are opened now;
you do not walk as a sleepwalker.
Turn around now.
There is safety and shelter on My path for you.
My Spirit is your friend.
My Spirit will walk right by your side,
step-by-step, moment-by-moment,
on your right path–the one I chose for you.

“Trust God from the bottom of your heart;
    don’t try to figure out everything on your own.
Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
    he’s the one who will keep you on track.”
Proverb 3:5-7, The Message Bible

“If you love Me, obey the commandments I have given you.
I will ask the Father to send you another Helper,
the Spirit of truth, who will remain constantly with you.
The world does not recognize the Spirit of truth,
because it does not know the Spirit and is unable to receive Him.
But you do know the Spirit
because He lives with you, and He will dwell in you.
~John 14:15-17, The Voice Bible

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.”
~Romans 8:14, The Living Bible

“Since this is the kind of life we have chosen, the life of the Spirit,
let us make sure that we do not just hold it as an idea in our heads
…but work out its implications in every detail of our lives.”
~Galatians 5:25, The Message Bible
