Serve TheLORD with Fear, Rejoice with Trembling

Serve theLord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
–Psalm 2:11,  NIV

“STOP! Be still… Enter gates with thanksgiving… courts with praise.. altar with offerings… inner sanctuary with reverence… presence with singing…”  Those are the few words I remembered from what was stirring within my spirit as I was awakening this morning. I also remembered a distinct impression of agitation and dissatisfaction about The Church conducting services “as usual”. In fact, “not as usual” was definitely the point of The LORD’s admonishment; He wants usual praise and worship in His houses to “STOP!”  After I settled in my corner to look up scripture passages that contained similar wordings, I got the full Word of Encouragement (WOE) as follows:

“STOP! Cease the noise!
I hear clanging symbols—STOP!
I hear the voices, loud and unharmonizing—STOP!
I hear no songs, just words—STOP!
I hear no music, just notes—STOP!
In coming to see Me:
Enter My gates with thanksgiving and an expectancy to see.
Enter My courts with praise.
Approach My altar with offerings.
Enter My inner sanctuary with reverence.
Approach My presence with singing, in unison.
I will hear your petitions when they are presented at My feet.
The humble may stand in My presence and leave rejoicing.”

Now, I beseech you to take notice of the passages of scripture below; they reinforce today’s WOE. I also encourage you to read Psalm 9; verses 1, 2, and 11 are “right response” to the truth of verses 13-20. Another interesting read is all of Psalm 15 as well as Psalm 20:2, 3; 22: 22-25; 26: 2, 3, 6-8, 12.  Read and be blessed! SELAH!

A personal thought:
Assembling together should not be a ritual,
but a right response to a right relationship
with God Almighty!

Psalm 2
(VOICE)

1-3 You are wondering: What has provoked the nations to embrace anger and chaos? Why are the people making plans to pursue their own vacant and empty greatness? Leaders of nations stand united; rulers put their heads together, plotting against the Eternal One and His Anointed King, trying to figure out. How they can throw off the gentle reign of God’s love, step out from under the restrictions of His claims to advance their own schemes?
4-5 At first, the Power of heaven laughs at their silliness. The Eternal mocks their ignorant selfishness. But His laughter turns to rage, and He rebukes them. As God displays His righteous anger, they begin to know the meaning of fear. He says,
“I am the One
who appointed My king
who reigns from Zion,
My mount of holiness.
He is the one in charge.
7-11 I am telling all of you the truth. I have heard the Eternal’s decree. He said clearly to me, “You are My son. Today I have become your Father…”
FIREY HANDS-Ps2So leaders, kings, and judges,
be wise, and be warned.
There is only one God, the Eternal;
worship Him
with respect and awe;
take delight in Him
and tremble.

12 Bow down before God’s son.
If you don’t, you will face His anger and retribution,
And you won’t stand a chance…
But blessings await all who trust in Him.
    They will find God a gentle refuge.

From this day forward,
offer to God the right sacrifice

from a heart made right by God

Psalm 5
(NIV)
The arrogant cannot stand in your presence…
But I, by your great love, can come into your house;
in reverence I bow down toward your holy temple…
11 …let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.…

Proverb 1:7
(AMP)

The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; But arrogant [a]fools despise [skillful and godly] wisdom and instruction and self-discipline.

AMP Footnotes: Proverbs 1:7 In Proverbs various kinds of fools are discussed including those who are closed-minded, over-confident, and reject instruction and correction—the unteachable; those who lack spiritual insight—the spiritually blind; and those who are flippant, hardened, and who deliberately choose to reject God and wisdom—the arrogant.

DISCLAIMER: I go on record today that currently Honey and I do not have a church home. I will not go into the why of this circumstance at this time, but simply state it so no one will misassume this blog is in any way about a specific congregation. In fact, I hopefully correctly assume the WOE is about a minority within The Church, but also go on record that this WOE is for ALL of The Church! I only report (share) what I hear Holy Spirit say.
